Please call between 10.00am and 2.00pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times. We do not routinely inform patients of results that require no further action.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. Call handlers are not necessarily clinically trained to explain what the results of tests mean for the patient, and cannot easily verify patient identity over the telephone. Therefore they may take your details and advise that a clinician will review the results and call back if there is any action needed. We only release test results to the person to whom they relate, unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you have a test taken here we will usually advise the expected length of time for the results are returned to the practice. We cannot comment on results for tests requested by other services, including consultant and hospital-ordered tests.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so.
Online services can now allow you access to parts of your patient record, including test results. Download the NHS App to access these services.
Please note: only test requests made via the NHS, ordered from our practice and processed locally will be viewable and we cannot guarantee this in all circumstances. Speak to the practice administrator
