July 2013

The Practice will be undergoing a clinical system upgrade in early September 2013. For the first couple of weeks, it may take a little longer to process your prescription or to book your appointments, while the team settle in to the new processes. Please be patient with us, Many thanks for your understanding.

January 2013

Thank you to everyone who took part in our Christmas Raffle which helped us to raise £196 for the surgery. The winners of the hamper, Grahame and Julie Mulvin, donated it to the Salvation Army who were helping families and people in need over the Christmas period – a very worthy cause indeed. The raffle was organised for us by our Patient Group (the PPG) and is just one example of how the local community can help their surgery. The NHS are strongly encouraging patients to join their local PPG so that they have a voice, and ultimately you could even influence and bring about changes in your local healthcare provision. If you are passionate about healthcare in our area or there is a topic close to your heart, contact your surgery and ask to join the Patient Group or apply online via the website. You can attend the PPG meeting once every two months, or take part in surveys or subscribe to email updates. In the new NHS, individuals have a strong voice and if you use this opportunity to get involved, you could change how you and your family are looked after by the NHS in the future.

We warmly welcome Dr Rachel Bird, who has joined us for two sessions, on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. She is a very experienced GP, who has a special interest in women's health. She will be able to carry out all the usual tasks, as well as coil and Implanon fitting.

Dr Williams will now be working four mornings a week (not Wednesdays).

Sister Charlotte Lee returned to work in early November, following a recent spell of ill-health. We are all delighted to have Charlotte back.
